"My Kona" is an interview platform designed to showcase Kona bikes, how they're used, and how much they're loved. This is another story from one of our Central District Cyclery team members!

"My name is Burton, and I’m a service technician at an alarm company, remote program alarm panels, tech support, and customer support. So I sit on my ass all day. I gained weight and became diabetic , when my Doctor said I needed to start exercising more I started biking. I never thought I would ride the amount of miles that I have. I’ve gone places I would have never driven to in a car.

My first Kona was a Jake the Snake, 2nd Kona Wo and 3rd Kona Rove TI. They are very comfortable bikes. Before I bought the Jake I had ridden at least 5 other bikes all of similar specs, the Jake stood out above all the others. I’m not sure how many miles I have on it but it’s a lot more than I ever thought I would.

Probably two of my favorite memories on the Jake are from the Almanzo 100 race in Minnesota two years ago, and riding the entire White Pine all night long to avoid riding all day in the rain the next day.

I love to mountain bike and commute to friends and to Mom’s on the weekend, trails are preferred but I no longer have any issue using the road."

Keep watch for more interviews like this one to get a closer look at Kona culture!
